I Will Bless You My God...

Oh, bless our God, you peoples!
And make the voice of His praise to be heard,
Who keeps our soul among the living,
And does not allow our feet to be moved.
For You, O God, have tested us;
You have refined us as silver is refined.
You brought us into the net;
You laid affliction on our backs.
You have caused men to ride over our heads;
We went through fire and through water;
But You brought us out to rich fulfillment.--Psalm 66:8-12

I will bless You, my God, and make my voice of praise be heard!  You preserve my soul here in life and do not allow my feet to be moved.  It is You, O Lord, who have tried me and tested me.  It is You who brought me into the net and laid affliction upon me.  But through it all, Father, You have been my help...You have been with me.  You who keep me do not slumber. You  lead me on right paths and make me to lie down in green pastures.   You order my steps and delight in my way. You deliver me out of it all because I have put my trust in You.

I will sing of Your wonderful name because You, O Lord, have dealt bountifully with me.  You have used my affliction to draw me nigh unto You.  You have used it to mold me and make me more like you.  Someday I will awake in Your likeness!

You have proved my heart;  You have visited me in the night and tried me.  I have purposed in my heart to obey Your word...You alone do I worship.  You uphold all my goings and delivered me from wrong paths....my footsteps have not slipped.  Hear my cry now, O God of my strength!  Incline Your ear to me and show me Your marvelous lovingkindness.  Save me by Your right hand from those that rise up against me.  Keep me as the apple of Your eye and hide me under the shadow of Your wing.

Help me to see the trials of my faith as precious...more precious than gold that perishes.  My desire, Father, is that my faith might be found unto Your praise and Your glory at the appearing of Your Son, Jesus.

Praise to my God, who has regarded my lowly estate and brought me into His kingdom of light and made me His own.

Fear Not...

Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed for I am thy God:  I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.--Isaiah 41:10

Fear thou not, for I am with thee...

Father,

You hold my right hand as a Dad does a child saying, don't be scared...I am right here with you. You, Father, are my strength and my salvation.  You have created me, redeemed me and called me by name....I am Yours.  When I pass through the waters, You will be with me.... I am precious in Your sight.  You are the One who comforts me....You are my shield and my exceedingly great reward.  You go before me and make perfect all that concerns me.  You fight my battles.  You will not fail me nor forsake me.   Therefore, I take your hand and rest...I lay down in peace.  You my God keep Your promises...You my God have a plan and it is perfect.

Remember Me...

Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.--Psalm 25:6-7

Father,

Remember me, O LORD, according to thy mercy...remember Thou, me, for thy goodness' sake. You are the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort!  You regard my affliction...you hear my cry...you remember me according to the multitude of your tender mercies.  You remembered me in my lowest estate and made me your beloved daughter.   Your mercy, O God,  endures forever.

I want Your lovingkindness and truth to continually preserve me. So many evils surround me and my heart fails...be pleased O Lord to be with me and deliver me.  In the acceptable time, in the multitude of Your mercy, hear me...bring me up out of the mire.  Keep me from sinking, Father!

Despite the wickedness of my heart, You, Father, have delivered my soul from the pit of corruption and cast my sins behind my back.  You are my God that blots out my transgressions and remembers my sin no more.  Help me O God and save me for Your mercy's sake.  Make Your face shine upon me...I have called upon You...let me not be ashamed.  I am accepted in Your beloved Son, Jesus.  Through Him I have obtained redemption by His blood...in Him I have forgiveness of sins...in Him I have an inheritance  that is incorruptible and undefiled, that will not fade away...reserved in heaven for me!

My Everlasting Light...

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?--Psalm 27:1

Father,

You are my everlasting light....You are my God of glory....my sun and my shield.  You give grace and do not withhold anything from me that is good.  As I walk with you, trusting in You, I am blessed!  You, O God, enlighten my darkness.  You are my light and my salvation...I will not be afraid.  The light of Your glory surrounds me!  Even when I sit in darkness, it is light about me for Your light encompasses me.  Your Son, Jesus, is my light...He is the One who stepped down into the darkness of this world.  He is the light that opened my eyes and made me see.  When I follow You, my God, I do not walk in darkness but have the light of life always with me...my path shines as the sun and ever brighter until that perfect day that I am once again with You.

I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.  Thou are my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer....my shield and my high tower.   I will call upon Your name....my cry will come to Your ears.  You will deliver me because You, my God, delight in me!!!  Your grace is sufficient...Your strength is made perfect in weakness.  When I am afraid I will trust in You.  You are on my side....there is nothing that man can do to me.  If You are for me, who can be against me?  You spared not Your own Son for me...You WILL give me all that I need.  My God lives!!  Blessed be my Rock and may the God of my salvation be exalted!!

My King and My God....

Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;  So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.--Psalm 45:10-11

Father,

I am here....Your daughter is listening.  Help me by Your grace to put aside those weights, snares and distractions that cloud my vision and keep me from Your love and Your purposes for me.   I want to desire only You and what You want for me.  I want to cease to care about my circumstances.  They change daily and You are in them all.  Father, I do not want to be irresponsible in this or unloving ...I want to face them all in a way that knows and understands that You, my Lord, are sovereign...that You truly have it all under control.  My job is just to hear and obey...help me to leave the results in Your hands of love.

You are calling me to arise and come away.  The winter is over...my time of weeping is done.  The birds sing and the flowers bloom.  My joy in You is full.  My soul takes delight in You, my God.  All Your ways are pleasant and Your paths peace.  Your wisdom is peaceable and pure, gentle, willing to yield.  It is full of mercy and good fruits and is without partiality or hypocrisy.  You have lifted my burden.  I have taken Your yoke which is easy and Your burden which is light.  Your Son, Jesus, is my teacher....I learn from Him.  He is meek and lowly in heart....in Him , my soul finds rest.

You my King, my Lord and my God, greatly desires my beauty.  A gentle and quiet spirit is of great worth in Your sight.   As I look to You I am transformed into Your image...from glory to glory, by Your Spirit.  I become radiant and shine from the inside out.  The light of Your countenance upon me makes me beautiful.  You love me with a jealous love.  You desire only my good.  You rejoice over me as bridegroom rejoices over his bride.  You, my Lord and my God, are in my midst...I will rest in Your love and glory in Your presence.  You will rejoice over me with singing and quiet me with Your love.

Your throne, O God is forever. A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your Kingdom.  You are my Maker....You, Lord, are my husband.  You have called me out of the darkness and into Your marvelous light.  You called me when I was in despair...grieved, forsaken, and in much trouble.  You gathered me to yourself with great mercies and in Your everlasting kindness have redeemed me and made me Your precious daughter.

I will worship you my God.  I will kneel before the Lord, my Maker.  I will give you all the praise glory and honor.  Without You, I would have perished in the way.  You have clothed me in Your righteousness and covered me with Your love. You are the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David....You are God over all.  You alone have prevailed to open the scroll, the title deed to the earth, and loose its seven seals. Your kingdom is forever.  Blessed are all those who put their trust in You.

My Very Present Help...

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.--Psalm 46:1

O Precious Father,

I so need to remember this...My heart finds so much comfort in the "very present" part.  You are nigh unto me, always.  You do not stand aloof at my trouble or my tears.  You fulfill the desire of them that fear You...You hear my cry and save me.  In You I live and move and have my being.  You are my refuge and my strength.  My flesh and my heart may fail, but you my God are my portion forever.

I will trust in You at all times and pour out my heart before You. You are the strong tower that I run to when I am afraid.   I will dwell in Your secret place and abide under the shadow of my Almighty God.

Lord, I flee to you...I lay hold of the strong consolation I have in Jesus, Your Son.  He is the anchor of my soul...The One that is sure and steadfast...the One who goes before me in righteousness...the One who intercedes for me without ceasing.

You are my Lord of hosts...the One who fights for me.  I will be still and know that You are God.  You, Father, are in my midst, I will not be moved.  You are on your throne...You reign.  All that happens to me, Your beloved, is for my good and Your glory.  As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness.  I shall be satisfied when I awake with your likeness.  Until then I will look to You and in the light of Your countenance, I will be radiant...unashamed and unafraid.

Heart's Desire...

One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.--Psalm 27:4

Father,

Let this be my desire.  Let all my desires and affections be bound up in this one desire...to seek you that I may live always in nearness to you.  To behold your beauty and to inquire of You.  Let my life, O Lord, be all about You.  Let all I do and all I say glorify Your precious name.

LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.--Psalm 26:8

Enable me to, like Mary, choose the good part, the one thing that is needful:

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.--Luke 10:42

Help me to look forward...not back and always keep my eye on the the hope that is in You.

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, php.3.14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.--Philippians 3:13

Keep my heart steadfast and undivided in its affections.

My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise.--Psalm 57:7

I want to seek You Lord with my whole heart...to set my face unto you in prayer and supplication...to seek your kingdom first always.  Help me Father to pray..to do good and not grow weary.  Let my strength be in You and let me be satisfied with the goodness of Your house and the overwhelming awesomeness of Your presence. Allow me to behold your beauty and to search out the many deep and wonderful truths in Your word.  Be my sun and shield...

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.--Jeremiah 29:13

And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications,--Daniel 9:3

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.--Matt 6:33

As I do this Father may you establish the work of my hands and may your beauty be upon me!

And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.--Psalm 90:17

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.--2nd Corinthians 3:18

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given useverlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.--2nd Thessalonians 2:16-17

Arise O Lord!

Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.  Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever. Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?  For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth. Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake.--Psalm 44:22-26

Father,

I am delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that His life might be made manifest in my mortal flesh.  Death is working in me, but life in those who see Your life in my life.  Your Son, Jesus, was as a lamb led to slaughter and as a sheep before its shearers is silent He opened not His mouth.  You, Jesus, were  obedient to death, even the death of the cross.  No one took Your life from You.  You gave Your life willingly for mine.  My life, Father, is in Your Son.  May I do as He did here on earth...give my life away freely.

Blessed am I, then, if I am persecuted, reviled and spoken of evilly and falsely for Your sake.  I will rejoice and be exceedingly glad!  Let me, Father, be salt and light here on this earth while I live.  Give me that single minded desire for You and Your power and presence in my life.  Oh, that others would see Your light and glorify You, my Father, in heaven.

But even so, I am so weak and so in need of You.  Your word tells me that You will not forget me....that you will have compassion on me.  I am engraved in the palms of Your hands...I am continually before You!  Awake!  Arise to help me!  Do not hide your face from my affliction.  My soul is bowed down to the dust.  Arise for my help....redeem me, rescue me, deliver me for Your mercies sake!  Be not far from me, my King and my God.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.  We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;  Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;  Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.  For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worketh in us, but life in you.... For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.  For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;  While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.--2nd Corinithians 4:7-18

Make Haste to Help Me!

For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.  For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.  For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me. For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin. But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.†  They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is. Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.  Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.--Psalm 38:12-15

My hope is in You, Lord.  I wait for You.  You, my God, are my earnest desire.  As I seek You, You will keep my way and prosper my pursuit with many blessings.   I will trust in You and do good.  As I journey here on this earth I will walk by faith and feed on your faithfulness.  I will delight myself in You...knowing that it is in You that I will have all the desires of my heart fulfilled.  I will commit my way also to You and You will bring it to pass.   I will be glad and rest in You, my God.

Hear me now, Father, lest my enemies rejoice over me when my feet slip and they magnify themselves against me.  Let my prayer for them that hate me and are my enemies be the same as my prayer for myself....Mercy...always mercy.  Father, I am trusting in Your mercy and rejoicing in Your salvation.   To You belong vengeance and recompense.  The foot of my enemy will slide in due time...for the day of their calamity is near...even at hand and the things that will come upon them make haste.

But as for me, Father, I am ready to halt...I am limping, stumbling....I am in adversity. My sorrow is continually before me.   How comforting it is to remember that You were despised and rejected of men....You were a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.  You bore my griefs...You carried my sorrows.  You were stricken, smitten of God, afflicted for my sin....and I esteemed You not!  You were wounded for my transgressions, bruised for my iniquity...the chastisement of my peace was upon You and by your stripes I was healed.  Yea, the iniquity of us all was laid on You.

And yet, it pleased my God to bruise You and put You to grief.  He made Your soul an offering for sin.  Oh Father....HERE is the key....BUT the pleasure of His God shall prosper in His hand.  Your pleasure and His ....my Jesus.....was the salvation of mankind. Your will prospered in His hand.  You saw the travail of Your Son's soul and were satisfied because by the knowledge of Your Son many would be justified and made righteous.

All this here on earth that we go through, Father, THIS is its ultimate purpose...to draw more to come to the knowledge of You through Your Son, Jesus and be saved from an eternity of torment.  You brought me up out of the horrible pit and set my feet upon a rock.  You established my goings.  God it was You who put a new song in my mouth...praise unto You...may many see it and trust in You.  Oh Father, the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that You will reveal in us.  May Your pleasure prosper in my life!!  May I one day look upon the travail of my own soul and be satisfied.  May I see the fruit that You, and You alone, wrought when the darkness covered me and Your billows went over me and be glad!

Let me pray for those who would desire to see me fail.  Open the eyes of my enemies....your enemies, really....to see Your glory, grace, and truth in the face of Jesus.

My enemies are lively, Father....and they do hate me wrongfully.  They render evil for good to because I follow the One that is good.  Forsake me not, make haste to help me.  Use my travail for my good and Your glory.  Bring my enemies to You.....Make haste to help me....BUT Father, make haste to help those who do not know You....make haste to bring them into Your kingdom of light.

You Are Light About Me...

Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner as all my fathers were.--Psalm 39:12

Hear my prayer, Father...I am a stranger here on this earth.  I don't know how to come in or go out without You.  Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.  Don't hide your commandments from me...Your statutes are my song during my pilgrimage here.  My true home is with You in heaven.  Here on this earth I walk by faith and not by sight.  I need your directions and your guidance.   I need your right hand to lead me and uphold me in the right way.  When the darkness covers me, You are light about me.

Do not hold your peace at my tears...my sorrow, Father, is continually before me.  You keep all my tears in a bottle.  Have mercy on me, for I am weak.  I am your beloved...he who touches me touches, the apple of your eye.  You are gracious and merciful.  I have been brought low, but You, O God, help me.  I will rest under the shadow of Your wing because You have and will deal bountifully with me. You have delivered my soul from death and my eyes from tears.

A Prayer to the God of My Life

The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me, a prayer to the God of my life.  --Psalm 42:8

You are my King and my God...at Your word my deliverance comes.  You command Your blessings....even life for evermore....upon me.  You daily load me with benefits.  Your kindness towards me reaches to the heavens.  Your tender mercies are always with me.  You do not stand aloof at my tears.  Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.   I will bless You and lift up my hands to You.  My soul shall be satisfied with your goodness.

At night Your song is with me. You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble and You, my God, surround me with songs of deliverance.   I will remember You upon my bed and meditate on You in the night watches. I will sing aloud of Your goodness and be joyful in Your glory.  You alone give me gladness of heart and in the shadow of Your wings I rejoice.  I will follow hard after You and Your right hand will hold me up.  My soul waits upon You only, for my expectation is from You.   You are the God of my life.  My rock, my refuge and my strength.   In you I live and move and have my being.

Waiting Upon My God...

They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.--Psalm 34:5

Father,

Thank you for this verse...shame disappears when I look at you because in You there is neither darkness nor fear.  In You even the night is light about me and Your perfect love casts out fear.   I look to You, Father, and I am helped.  You look upon the humble and contrite heart...you save those who seek Your face in sincerity and truth.  When I focus my gaze on You, Your light continually flows to me and I am radiant.  You, O Lord, put Your light in my heart.

As a maid servant looks to her mistress, let my eyes wait upon You until You have mercy on me.  You alone are God and there is no other besides You.  I will look unto You, my Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith.  I will look unto Him who endured the cross for the salvation of my soul, despising the shame!  Help me Father, not to grow weary or faint...Bring to my remembrance the hostility Your Son faced...Help me to recall that I have not yet suffered to bloodshed as He did, striving against sin.  Help me to press on knowing that You have a purpose in all my trials and tribulations.  What a joy and a privilege if someone might see Your light in my life and look to You and be changed....

Jesus...the Voice of Wisdom

Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,  I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.--Psalm 40:7

This is wisdom...fearing God and finding your delight in His word and doing His will.  Proverbs 8 personifies wisdom.  Colossians 2 tells us that in Jesus are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.  JESUS PERSONIFIES WISDOM.  Read Proverbs 8 and hear the voice of Jesus.  Hear His will for you...

"Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors. Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.  O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.  Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.  For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.  All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.  They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge. Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.  For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.  I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.  By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.  By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.  I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.  My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.  I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.  When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.  Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:  While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:  When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;  Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.  Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.  For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death."

The Steps of a Good Man...

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.--Psalm 37:23-24

Father,

Bow down your ear to me and hear me...for I am poor and needy.  Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not....oh that Your righteousness go before me always!

Order my steps in thy word and let not any iniquity have dominion over me....May this always be my prayer...may You, my God, be my one consuming passion.  I have esteemed your word more than my necessary food...prepare my heart to walk in Your steps and my tongue to answer with Your words.  Let your counsel stand in my life.  You, who do not slumber...You will not allow my foot to be moved.  My God shall preserve my going out and my coming in.  Let it not be in me, Father, to direct my own steps or to walk in the "way" of man.

You take pleasure in those that fear You and hope in Your mercy.  Those who are upright in their way are Your delight and with those who do good and share You are well pleased.  Lord, let me glory in understanding and knowing that You are my God who exercises lovingkindness, judgment and righteousness in the earth...in these let me find my delight.

Though I fall, Father, I will not be utterly cast down, You uphold me with your right hand  Many, my God, are my afflictions but You deliver me out of them all.  Your hands of mercy hold me.  In the multitude of my anxieties within Your comforts delight my soul.  You hold up those that fall and raise up all who are bowed down.  When I sit in darkness, You, O Lord, are a light to me.  Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

“I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” Psalm 18:1-2
