I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God;
Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech.
Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand,
O You who save those who trust in You
From those who rise up against them.
Keep me as the apple of Your eye;
Hide me under the shadow of Your wings,
From the wicked who oppress me,
From my deadly enemies who surround me.—Psalm 17:6-7
Father…
But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD;
I say, "You are my God."
My times are in Your hand;
Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. Show me your lovingkindness! Hide me in the secret place of Your Presence. Be my comfort in my grief and sorrow. Save me from my enemies! But even so, Father…Save those who are my enemies…who continually betray me and rise up against me. I mourn for their seemingly impenetrable hearts. My heart still loves them…give them Your best! Show them Your marvelous lovingkindness. Bring them into Your kingdom of the Son of Your love. When You turn to me to be my help, O, turn to them also, O God, and save them. Surround them in Your love and cause them to cry out. Pull them up out of the miry clay, set their feet upon a rock and put a new song on their lips. May their surrender be Your victory. All glory to You, my precious Savior, who does not desire that any should perish but that all should come to life in your Son.
I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy,
For You have considered my trouble;
You have known my soul in adversities,
And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy;
You have set my feet in a wide place.—Psalm 31
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the LORD.—Psalm 31
