For I Do Not Know Their Limits…

But I will hope continually,

And will praise You yet more and more.

My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness

And Your salvation all the day,

For I do not know their limits.

I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD;

I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only.Psalm 71:14-16

What hit my heart as I read these verses this morning?  Our God is illimitable...He is incapable of being limited or bounded...He is measureless.  Thinking on its meaning in terms of the works and promises of God strengthened my faith and encouraged my heart.

Beloved…Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God! His arm is not short and his abilities are illimitable.  There is nothing too hard for Him. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.

The older I get the more I truly see and acknowledge that ALL the good fruit in my life has not come from me but is and was the work of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling presence in me.  Apart from Him, I can do NOTHING to the praise of the glory of His grace.

Oh, Infinite Father…Teach me Your statutes and help me to abide in Your perfect love. Thank you that my hope and my expectation is from You because Your steadfast love toward me never ceases.  Your compassions fail not and Your faithfulness is great. As David did, I also will praise You more and more.

Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works

Which You have done;

And Your thoughts toward us

Cannot be recounted to You in order;

If I would declare and speak of them,

They are more than can be numbered.—Psalm 40:5

My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and Your deeds of salvation all the day long for they are without limit…so much more than I can know or consider. I will go today in Your strength and will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.  I am so grateful, Father, that it is You who works in me both to will and to do for Your good pleasure.

And this I pray, that my love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that I may approve the things that are excellent, that I may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

All Your works shall praise You, O LORD,

And Your saints shall bless You.

They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom,

And talk of Your power,

To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts,

And the glorious majesty of His kingdom.

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,

And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

The LORD upholds all who fall,

And raises up all who are bowed down.

The eyes of all look expectantly to You,

And You give them their food in due season.

You open Your hand

And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

The LORD is righteous in all His ways,

Gracious in all His works.

The LORD is near to all who call upon Him,

To all who call upon Him in truth.

He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;

He also will hear their cry and save them.

The LORD preserves all who love Him,—Psalm 145:10-20a
