Behold, I Send My Angel Before You...

“Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.—Exodus 23:20

Oh my goodness...the more I read through the Old Testament the more I see my Jesus on every single page.  How good our God is to His people!  He sends His Angel (the pre-incarnate Christ) before them on their journey to the promised land to be their Divine leader and their Divine Keeper.  Beloved, He does the same for us. Reading through the cross-reference verses for Exodus 23:20 in my Thompson Chain Reference Bible brought me much comfort.  Truly our God is the same...yesterday, today and forever!  He who is forever faithful will guide us through our earthly journey and when we awake in His heavenly Presence, we will be like Him.  Hear his heart even for those who would reject Him:

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!—Matthew 23:37

Beloved,  Be willing!  Our God is full of compassion...even toward the unbelieving and rejecting.  His plans for us are good...to give us a future and a hope. He wants none to perish but for all to come to Him and have life in His Son.

"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know."John 14:3-4

But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, 'Where are You going?' 6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.—John 16:5-7

And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."—Matthew 28:20b
