Trust in the LORD, and do good;—Psalm 37:3a
I am good at making things complicated so the utter simplicity of this verse really appeals to me. It is fast becoming my new “go-to” during the day. As Spurgeon has said…Faith cures fretting.
Beloved…Come what may, trust God and do the next right thing. Don’t lean on your own understanding. God is way smarter than you. He has had everything you worry about figured out from before the foundation of the world. Obedience to His will brings joy and drives away fear and discontent.
So trust Him and when you don’t know what to do and are drowning in the misery of your own futile thoughts…the answer is simple…Do good. It really doesn’t get much simpler than that.
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD.
"For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.—Isaiah 55:8-9
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!—Romans 11:33
Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.—Hebrews 12:12-13
