And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. 29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him—1 John 2:28-29
As believers, He Himself has promised us eternal life.
And the testimony is this: God has given us eternal life [we already possess it], and this life is in His Son [resulting in our spiritual completeness, and eternal companionship with Him]. 12 He who has the Son [by accepting Him as Lord and Savior] has the life [that is eternal]; he who does not have the Son of God [by personal faith] does not have the life.—1 John 5:11-12 AMP
Beloved… Remain in Him with unwavering faith so that when he comes; you will not be ashamed or shrink away from Him but have perfect confidence. Stand fast by holding fast to the truth of His word…allowing the Spirit to use it to direct your steps and transform you moment by moment into the image of His Son. For the true love of God is this: that we habitually keep His commandments and remain focused on His precepts.
God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides continually in him. 17 In this [union and fellowship with Him], love is completed and perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him]; because as He is, so are we in this world.—1 John 4:16-17 AMP
For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God]. 5 Who is the one who is victorious and overcomes the world? It is the one who believes and recognizes the fact that Jesus is the Son of God.—1 John 5:4-5 AMP
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, 17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.—2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
