Caught myself many times over the past 36 hours attempting to try to somehow control my feelings of anxiety and fear about the impending storm by getting all caught up with the household chores before a tree falls on our house or the power goes out. Really...as if it is going to matter....as if it is going to be important.
Remembering that I need to be more of a Mary instead of a Martha. Doing right now, like Mary, the thing that is most needful...spending time with my Father in Heaven.
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Going once again right now to His word...where my help and hope truly come. Going to the One who is my shield and my exceedingly great reward...going to the One who is always with me and has promised never to leave me nor forsake me. Praying that as each of us look to Him today to find rest that His comforts would truly delight our souls. So thankful that it is God that perfects all that concerns us and that His grace is sufficient for our every need...
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.--Hebrews 4:12-16
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
And in keeping them there is great reward.

Who can understand his errors?
Cleanse me from secret faults.
Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins;
Let them not have dominion over me.
Then I shall be blameless,
And I shall be innocent of great transgression.
