A Tender Heart..

because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before the LORD when you heard what I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they would become a desolation and a curse, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you," says the LORD. 20 "Surely, therefore, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the calamity which I will bring on this place."'" So they brought back word to the king.2 Kings 22:19-20

Oh, Father...May Your word be my wisdom, my refuge and my strength!  Give me a tender and humble heart like Josiah.  Bring me comfort in the midst of grief knowing You love me and have good for me always. Truly, the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us. Allow my own grief and pain to give me a caring and affectionate heart toward another’s pain and let not the foot of pride come against me.  May the abominations of the wicked make my heart cry out in anguish and sorrow against sin. May I weep for the lost knowing their end.  Give me, Father, a praying heart that desires what You desire...that all should come to repentance. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart—These, O God, You will not despise.  For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:  "I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.  Bring revival to my heart and to the hearts of all who belong to You.   Bring repentance ABBA, to the lost, hopeless and dying of this world.  Thinking of a song that You used to bring my heart good desires, hope and joy as a young girl...

Make me a channel of Your peace
Where there is hatred, let me bring Your love
Where there is injury, Your pardon Lord
And where there's doubt, true faith in You
Make me a channel of Your peace
Where there's despair in life, let me bring hope
Where there is darkness, only light
And where there's sadness, ever joy
Oh Master, grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console
To be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love with all my soul
Make me a channel of Your peace
It is pardoning that we are pardoned
In giving to all men that we receive
And in dying that we're born to eternal life.
