Self-focus/a selfish spirit is the opposite of Christ's self-sacrificing agape love. Thinking of how easy it is to read this verse and not get the real sense of what is meant because I gloss over the meaning of the word LOOK. My attention is mostly fixed on me. SIGH...
O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.--Romans 7:24-25
And then...the very next verse!!!!
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.--Romans 8:1
