1 Blessed is every one who fears the LORD,
Who walks in His ways.
2 When you eat the labor of your hands,
You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.
3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine
In the very heart of your house,
Your children like olive plants
All around your table.
4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
Who fears the LORD.
5 The LORD bless you out of Zion,
And may you see the good of Jerusalem
All the days of your life.
6 Yes, may you see your children's children.
Peace be upon Israel!—Psalm 128
This Psalm immediately brought Psalm 23 to mind...specifically the last verse...
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD
Forever.
When the Lord is your Shepherd goodness and mercy will follow you. You will not be able to outrun them...they WILL ALWAYS overtake you. His goodness will surround your footsteps and His mercy will cover your missteps. Psalm 128 delineates some of them...
Blessings on fathers, mothers, children and children’s children.
Blessings of provision and prosperity
Blessings both personally and nationally
Blessings in the present and blessings in the future
I will look to You, my Father in heaven, and will be radiant. I will be glad in You, my sovereign God and Savior and my mouth will be filled with Your praise. It will be well with me because Your favor surrounds. You care for me, guide me with Your counsel and show me the path of life. In Your Presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand pleasures for evermore...oh, how blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust.
