Praise to Our God!

 1 Oh come, let us sing to the LORD!

Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;

Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

3 For the LORD is the great God,

And the great King above all gods.

4 In His hand are the deep places of the earth;

The heights of the hills are His also.

5 The sea is His, for He made it;

And His hands formed the dry land.

6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down;

Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.

7 For He is our God,

And we are the people of His pasture,

And the sheep of His hand.—Psalm 95:1-7

Truly, the Psalms teach us to praise, and I confess that I don’t do anywhere near enough of it!   Oh Father...help me in this!  Give me the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.  Oh, that I would live my life  “cataloging” all Your benefits.   Fill my days with Your praise!

Beloved, praise is good, right, pleasant and beautiful.  It is right for us as His creatures...the sheep of His pastures...to praise Him, our good and faithful Creator.  Praise is GOOD for US!  It will do US good to praise our God...to lift up both our hearts and our song to Him.  Praise is the will of God, and the sound of it fills heaven itself.

Praise brings humility and magnifies our God.  It reminds us of our absolute and utter dependence on Him even for the very air we breathe.  Praise also brings to mind His wonderful works and helps us to think on His character.  Praise acknowledges Him as the Giver of all that is good.

It is in praise that we remember that He hedges us behind and before and has laid His hand upon us.  Our God’s favor is with us!  He not only gives us what we need for this journey, but He guides our steps and does the work along the way.  His mercy fills our footsteps, and His goodness overtakes and surrounds us.

Praise also brings His comfort to our hearts.  He is sovereign. He sees all. Nothing happens to us without first passing through His hand.

God is the Rock of our salvation... Our all powerful, all knowing, everywhere present Creator. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith who endured the cross and is blessed forever.  Praise to our Good Shepherd who sought us when we were lost,  brought us to Himself and made us accepted in the Beloved!

Seven times a day I praise You, because of Your righteous judgments.  Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.’

1 Oh, sing to the LORD a new song!

Sing to the LORD, all the earth.

2 Sing to the LORD, bless His name;

Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.

3 Declare His glory among the nations,

His wonders among all peoples.

4 For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised;

He is to be feared above all gods.

5 For all the gods of the peoples are idols,

But the LORD made the heavens.

6 Honor and majesty are before Him;

Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.

7 Give to the LORD, O families of the peoples,

Give to the LORD glory and strength.

8 Give to the LORD the glory due His name;

Bring an offering, and come into His courts.

9 Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness!

Tremble before Him, all the earth.

10 Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns;

The world also is firmly established,

It shall not be moved;

He shall judge the peoples righteously."

11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;

Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;

12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it.

Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice

13 before the LORD.

For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth.

He shall judge the world with righteousness,

And the peoples with His truth.Psalm 96

And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.Revelation 19:5-7
