To Praise and Serve as the Duty of the Day..

the Levites for their duties (to praise and serve before the priests) as the duty of each day required,—2 Chronicles 8:14

To praise and serve as the duty of each day required...

Father...Remind me to take the time each day to praise You.  Forgive me for taking Your steadfast love toward me for granted.  The earth, O LORD, is full of Your mercy!  I looked around me this morning at all Your blessings that were just in the reach of my arms, and I was overwhelmed with Your goodness!...All because I did my “duty” and purposed to praise You.  1 John 5:3 says, “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments.  And His commandments are not burdensome.” Your commandments are good and are for our good!  Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever.  By Your precious Spirit, I will serve You with all of my heart to the praise of Your glory.

You have commanded us
To keep Your precepts diligently.
Oh, that my ways were directed
To keep Your statutes!
Then I would not be ashamed,
When I look into all Your commandments.
I will praise You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments.
I will keep Your statutes;
Oh, do not forsake me utterly!—Ps 119:4-8

Blessed are You, O LORD!
Teach me Your statutes.—Ps 119:12

May Your statutes be my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. ❤️

Who Shall Separate Us...

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8: 35-39).

I LOVE this passage!  I am so tightly tied to my God that nothing can separate me from His love.  I am glued to Him.  He sustains me through my weaknesses, strengthens me in my times of trial, draws me continually to Himself, and grants me His victory within my life.

I am more than a conqueror through Him who loves me. I belong to Jesus now and forever.

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long.—Fanny J Crosby

The Grass is Always Greener...

2Ch 12:8 NKJV - “Nevertheless they will be his servants, that they may distinguish My service from the service of the kingdoms of the nations.”

Letting the word comment on the word...

Deut 28:47-48, NKJV: “Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the LORD will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you.”

Hosea 2:7, “She will chase her lovers,
But not overtake them;
Yes, she will seek them, but not find them.
Then she will say,
‘I will go and return to my first husband,
For then it was better for me than now.’”

The grass is always greener on the “other” side is one of many lies we use to deceive ourselves when we are not getting what we want.  Praying that when my spirit becomes discontented within in me that I renew my mind with the truth.  That remember that I am under grace and continue under the perfect law of liberty.

James 1:25 (NKJV) “But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues [in it,] and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”

What is the perfect law of liberty?

We, as believers, are set free from the law of Moses by our faith in Christ Jesus.  Jesus is the end of the law of works to all who believe.  Believers are under grace...the law of liberty...we now are at liberty to do what is right..to be all we can be in Christ Jesus.   An unbeliever is judged by the law.  The law tells us how we are suppose to behave, but it does not give us the power to do it and condemns us when we fail.  Here is the beautiful thing about grace and the law of liberty.  Grace gives us the power to obey the law and then rewards us when we do! We do not obey God out of fear or because we have to, we  obey God because we want to. We obey Him out of love and gratitude for what He has done for us and not in our own strength but in His.
