“for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.'”
David Guzik says that “Paul did not quote these men because they were prophets or because all their teaching was of God. He quoted them because these specific words reflected a Biblical truth, and by using them he could build a bridge to his pagan audience.”
I am so glad he did...this verse from the time I first read it 25 years ago until now has ministered to me almost daily. Such a precious truth. I am in Christ. It is in Him that I live and move and have my being. I am a His offspring. I am safe...my refuge is in Him who Paul said made the world and everything in it. He is my dwelling place. I can only fall as far as His everlasting arms.
Blessed be the LORD my Rock,
My lovingkindness and my fortress,
My high tower and my deliverer,
My shield and the One in whom I take refuge,
Happy are the people who are in such a state;
Happy are the people whose God is the LORD!—Psalm 144:1;2;15
