Through wisdom a house is built,
And by understanding it is established;
By knowledge the rooms are filled
With all precious and pleasant riches.—Proverbs 24:3-4
Proverbs 9:10 tells us that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. I am so glad that verses like these and others like them were included in the Canon of Scripture. When I first got saved, this is what I had been searching for...wisdom to get me through this life but especially wisdom for raising my family. Prior to salvation my house was sinking sand. It was built by me...by my wisdom...on a foundation that was not of God.
Beloved, unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. As you have received Christ so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.—Proverbs 3:5-6
I am so grateful to God for redeeming my life from destruction. Truly, the Lord has done great things for me, and I am glad! Abide in the Vine, for without Him we can do nothing good. Let His Word fill you and allow His Spirit to use it to direct your steps. Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good. Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."—Joshua 24:15
but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.—2 Peter 3:18
For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;—Colossians 1:9-11
