My Soul Follows Close Behind You…

 Because You have been my help,

Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.

My soul follows close behind You;

Your right hand upholds me.Psalm 63:7-8

I love Him because He first loved me.  I love Him because He is and has been my help. My soul clings to Him and follows hard after Him.  I depend on His grace and am thankful for His mercy. He is my strength, my song, and my deliverer.  His left hand is under my head and His right hand embraces me.  In Him I live and move and have my being. I sing for joy in the shadow of His wings because there I am protected and kept safe.

Beloved…This world even at its best IS a dry and thirsty land.  There is nothing here below that will ever satisfy your longing heart save for the grace and kindness found in Jesus, our Savior. Set your mind on things above and not on the things of the earth. Dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness.  Rest in His truth and revel in His love. He is Your all in all.  The best this world has to offer are those things that He created to point us Him…those things that give us a taste of heaven here on earth.

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;

Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them;

Let those also who love Your name

Be joyful in You.

For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous;

With favor You will surround him as with a shield.—Psalm 5:11-12

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me!

For my soul trusts in You;

And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge,

Until these calamities have passed by.Psalm 57:1

For You have been a shelter for me,

A strong tower from the enemy.

I will abide in Your tabernacle forever;

I will trust in the shelter of Your wings.—Psalm 61:3-4

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High

Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress;

My God, in Him I will trust."Psalm 91:1-2

For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us,—2 Corinthians 1:8-10

Whom have I in heaven but You?

And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.

My flesh and my heart fail;

But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.—Psalm 73:25

I spread out my hands to You;

My soul longs for You like a thirsty land.

Selah

Answer me speedily, O LORD;

My spirit fails!

Do not hide Your face from me,

Lest I be like those who go down into the pit.

Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,

For in You do I trust;

Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,

For I lift up my soul to You.Psalm 143:6-8

Below are more references from The Treasury of Scripture (TSK) for Psalm 63:8. Read them and be blessed. Those verses without a book citation are understood to be from the Psalms.

Psa 63:8

My soul, etc.

"My soul cleaveth {davekah} after Thee;" which not only shews the diligence of the pursuit, and the nearness of the attainment, but the fast hold he had of the mercy of God.
