Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.—Acts 4:13 (emphasis mine)
Sigh...so much conviction in these words. Oh to be so washed in the water of the word...so immersed in His precious truth that those around me can tell that I have been with Jesus. Father, may Your precious Scripture be my “go-to”, my hiding place and my treasure. May I desire it more than my necessary food. Let it dwell in me richly so that I have sufficiency in all things...give me spiritual abundance that I may live and keep Your word! I want the overflow of my heart and my mouth to sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to those around me. May your grace be poured out on my lips because Your word is in my heart for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence. 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— 31 that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the LORD."—1 Corinthians 1:26-31
