Receive Him as Myself…

If then you count me as a partner, receive him as you would me. But if he has wronged you or owes anything, put that on my account.—Philemon 17-18

“If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.” Oh my goodness!  How did I never notice this verse before.  I love how Paul advocates for Onesimus. How beautifully does it point to our Lord Jesus who is our Advocate before our Father in Heaven. Receive him, as Myself.”  We, who believe, are accepted by God in His Beloved Son. When we turn from our sins and believe, God receives us because in us, He sees Christ, His Son. Our sin has been imputed to the One who died on the Cross for our sin in our place.

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.—Psalm 32:2

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.—2 Corinthians 5:21

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus ChristRomans 5:1

But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.Romans 3:23-26
