Choosing the Way of Truth...

Dear Girls,

Sometimes life feels like a constant weight.  Our very soul melts from under the weight. We cry out to the Lord like Moses did when he was overwhelmed in the wilderness.

I am not able to bear all these people alone, because the burden is too heavy for me. “If You treat me like this, please kill me here and now--if I have found favor in Your sight--and do not let me see my wretchedness!”—Numbers 11:14-15

Or like Elijah did in 1 Kings 19:4:

But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, LORD, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!”

Or Job in chapter 10 verse 1:

My soul loathes my life;
I will give free course to my complaint,
I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

Or even David in Psalm 69:2:

Save me, O God!
For the waters have come up to my neck.
I sink in deep mire,
Where there is no standing;
I have come into deep waters,
Where the floods overflow me.
I am weary with my crying;
My throat is dry;
My eyes fail while I wait for my God.

God’s help and His sustaining grace was there for each of these men and it is there for each of us, also; when our way becomes heavy, dark and difficult.  He goes before us and makes the crooked places straight.  He breaks in pieces the gates of bronze and cuts the bars of iron.  He sends His angels to surround us, touch us, strengthen us and minister to our hearts.  As He did for David, in an acceptable time, He will hear us.  In the multitude of His mercy, He will lift us out of the mire.  Our God’s lovingkindness is good. Praise His name and magnify Him today with thanksgiving even and especially before He answers.

Continue to choose His way of truth.  Ask Him to remove any false way from Your heart. He will teach You His statutes by His Spirit and enable You to walk in the “right” way.  Cling to His testimonies, my daughters!  Look to Him and be radiant...your faces unashamed because our God NEVER disappoints.  Draw near to Him in Your distress...He will enlarge Your heart to run the course of His commandments.

Delight yourself also in the LORD,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.—Ps 37:4-5

Needless Fear.

On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.”
36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him.
37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.
38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”fn
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”—Mark 4:35-41

Needless fear...

Christ...dominion and power over all things forever.  I have no need to fear.  He cares for me and is with me.  He tells me specifically not to fret...that it only causes harm. He tells me to not let my heart be troubled neither let it be afraid...BELIEVE God!  You give me Your peace. Oh Father, help me to trust You and live (abide) in Your love free from fear and doubt. May Your perfect peace calm me in every circumstance and give me courage and strength for every challenge.  Help me to triumph in Your love.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.
9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.—Phil 4:6-9

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for

“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.—1  Peter 5:5-11

A Place for Refuge...

For the cloud of the LORD was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.—Exodus 40:38

Lord...May Your divine Presence today guide and direct my path.  May it fill me with Your grace and strength and enable me to go from strength to strength being a shelter and a soft place to fall for each member of my family.

 ❤️❤️
And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory [shall be] a defence. And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.—Isaiah 4:5-6
❤️❤️

In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.—Ps 78:14

My Soul Melts from Heaviness...

My soul melts from heaviness;
Strengthen me according to Your word.—Ps 119:28

 Father,

Teach me Your statutes!  My heart is heavy with grief and my body feels burdened.  I need Your Spirit desperately...

To revive and strengthen me...
To teach me to obey and fill me with Your joy as I walk in the way...
To remind me to put my trust in You...
To keep me in perfect peace...

I want to be this to the people You have placed in my life:

For You have been a strength to the poor,
A strength to the needy in his distress,
A refuge from the storm,
A shade from the heat;
For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
5 You will reduce the noise of aliens,
As heat in a dry place;
As heat in the shadow of a cloud,
The song of the terrible ones will be diminished.—Isaiah 25:4-5

Hear my prayer, Father!  I want to see Your goodness.  I want to walk in Your joy. Strengthen my ❤️. I will place my confidence in You!

But As for Me, I Trust in You...

Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”
39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”
40 Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What? Could you not watch with Me one hour?
41 “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Father...I feel this!  My Spirit is willing but my flesh is so weak. Be my Helper today.  Keep me watching and praying. Set a guard over my heart and my mouth.  Keep me from me, myself and I...direct my heart into Your love and the patience of Your Son.  Make me willing in heart and in soul to place my trust in You knowing I will not be ashamed. Help me to be of good courage...strengthen my heart...may my Hope always be in You.

But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD;
I say, “You are my God.”
15 My times are in Your hand;

Verse by Verse Thanksgiving Through Psalm 32...

Ps 32 below reminds me of Ps 119:26.  Thank you Father for Your sweet, freeing forgiveness.

I have declared my ways, and You answered me;
Teach me Your statutes.—Ps 119:26

A Psalm of David. A Contemplation.

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.

I have a recourse when I sin.  I am safe from hell and “no way back” because Christ surrendered His life on my behalf and satisfied God’s just and righteous requirements...mercy prevailed.  I can look up.

3 When I kept silent, my bones grew old
Through my groaning all the day long.
4 For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;
My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah

You desire us to come...to bring our sin to You.  You lead us to repentance.  You want to set our heart free.  You want us to ask for forgiveness so we can be with You forever.  You delivered me because You delight in me.

5 I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I have not hidden.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,”
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

No sweeter words...I confess..You forgive

6 For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You
In a time when You may be found;
Surely in a flood of great waters
They shall not come near him.
7 You are my hiding place;
You shall preserve me from trouble;
You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah

Even more sweet words.  My God is a refuge for me. A hiding place.  He surrounds me with songs of deliverance. So perfect. So beautiful.  So needed. Thank you, Abba.

8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye.
9 Do not be like the horse or like the mule,
Which have no understanding,
Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle,
Else they will not come near you.

You don’t just save me from sin and hell. You keep me safe and guide me through this veil of tears.  You light my path home. Ps 119:105

10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked;
But he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him.
11 Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous;
And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

MERCY SURROUNDS ME!  I will shout for joy.  Oh...teach me Your statutes.  Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord!

His Presence Goes With Me...

Show me Your glory, Father!  May my heart never depart from Your tabernacle.   I want to live in the secret place of Your Presence...hide me there.  Draw me close and never let me go. No matter where I find myself physically and emotionally, the truth is You are my Emanuel. You are my God who is with me...my God who makes His home with me.

Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp, far from the camp, and called it the tabernacle of meeting. And it came to pass that everyone who sought the LORD went out to the tabernacle of meeting which was outside the camp.—Exodus 33:7

So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.—Exodus 33:11

And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
15 Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.
16 “For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us?—Exodus 33:14-16

But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”—John 6:68-69

One thing I have desired of the LORD,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD,
And to inquire in His temple.
5 For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.
6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice!
Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When You said, “Seek My face,”
My heart said to You, “Your face, LORD, I will seek.”
9 Do not hide Your face from me;
Do not turn Your servant away in anger;
You have been my help;
Do not leave me nor forsake me,
O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me,
Then the LORD will take care of me.
11 Teach me Your way, O LORD,
And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.
12 Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries;
For false witnesses have risen against me,
And such as breathe out violence.
13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the LORD
In the land of the living.
14 Wait on the LORD;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the LORD!—Psalm 27:4-14

Waiting on the Lord...

Our soul waits for the LORD;
He is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in Him,
Because we have trusted in His holy name.
Let Your mercy, O LORD, be upon us,
Just as we hope in You.—Psalm 33:20-22

Teach, me Oh Lord to wait for You.  To remember that YOU ARE my help and my shield.  You protect me while I wait.  I am glad and rejoice because I have trusted in Your holy name. Your mercy also surrounds me as I place my trust and my hope in You.   I seek mercy...I HAVE a divine Helper...God IS my shield. I CAN rejoice!  I will praise Him with my song.

Oh Father!  I want my strength to be in You.  You give power to the weak and to those who have no might, You increase their strength. I want my walk in this world to reflect the verses below.  Do this work in my heart.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.
As they pass through the Valley of Baca,
They make it a spring;
The rain also covers it with pools.
They go from strength to strength;
Each one appears before God in Zion.—Psalm 84:5-7

But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.—Isaiah 40:31

Shepherd Me Also....Psalm 28:6-9

6 Blessed be the LORD,
Because He has heard the voice of my supplications!
7 The LORD is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,
And with my song I will praise Him.
8 The LORD is their strength,
And He is the saving refuge of His anointed.
9 Save Your people,
And bless Your inheritance;
Shepherd them also,
And bear them up forever.—Psalm 28:6-9

Father...thank you for your blessings and your trials. Thank you that You hear my prayer!  You are my strength and my shield.  My heart trusts You...therefore it greatly rejoices.  Be my saving refuge...my help...my divine support.  Bear me up today on eagles wings.  Shepherd me also.

Bringing Our Difficulties to Our God...Exodus 18:17-19

So Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “The thing that you do is not good.
“Both you and these people who are with you will surely wear yourselves out. For this thing is too much for you; you are not able to perform it by yourself. “Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God.—Exodus 18:17-19

Lord...Help me to bring the difficulties of the day to you.  I have no idea how to get thru any of them or even what to do. They wear me out.  I am trusting You with today.

Exodus 16:14-19

And when the layer of dew lifted, there, on the surface of the wilderness, was a small round substance, as fine as frost on the ground.  So when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, "What is it?" For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, "This is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat. “This is the thing which the LORD has commanded: ‘Let every man gather it according to each one’s need, one omer for each person, according to the number of persons; let every man take for those who are in his tent.’ ” Then the children of Israel did so and gathered, some more, some less. So when they measured it by omers, he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack. Every man had gathered according to each one’s need.
And Moses said, “Let no one leave any of it till morning.—Exodus 16:14-19

I can trust You...You are my Jehovah Jireh...my great Provider.  Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You,
which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!   You, Father, are My Becoming One.  You become for me whatever my need is.  Surely goodness and mercy will follow me (I can’t outrun them) all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

I Have Declared My Ways...Psalm 119:26-27

I have declared my ways and You answered me, Teach me Your statutes.  Make me understand the way of Your precepts; so shall I meditate on Your wonderful works.—Psalm 119:26-27

For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.
Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight--
Forgive my sin and teach me Your way, O LORD.  Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in You do I trust...cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, for I lift up my soul unto You.

Lord...I see who I am...a sinner saved by grace. A woman of little faith.  I need You desperately.  Teach me Your statutes!  Give me understanding that I might live and keep Your word.  Unite my heart, O God, to fear Your name. Strengthen me according to Your word and increase my faith.  Give me grace to honor You with my trust.  Help me to worship You in the beauty of holiness and bring glory to Your name.

My Soul Clings to the Dust...

DALETH
My soul clings to the dust;
Revive me according to Your word.—Psalm 119:25

Father...thank you that when my heart sees no way out and no where to turn...You are there...Your word is my comfort in my affliction. Your word causes me to hope.  Your word has given me life. By Your Spirit help me to dwell on those things that are eternal.  Turn away my eyes from looking at useless things and revive me in Your way of life and peace. You, who have shown me great and severe troubles, shall quicken me again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth.  You shall increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

Your statutes have been my songs
In the house of my pilgrimage.—Psalm 119:54

You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.—Psalm 139:5

7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;—Psalm 139:7-11

5 O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup;
You maintain my lot.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Yes, I have a good inheritance.
7 I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel;
My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.
8 I have set the LORD always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope.
10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
11 You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;

At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.—Psalm 18:5-11
