The Glory of God

Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the River Chebar, that the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God. 2 On the fifth day of the month, which was in the fifth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity, 3 the word of the LORD came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans] by the River Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was upon him there.--Ezekiel 1:1-2

Dear Girls,

We are beginning a study in Ezekiel this morning with Pastor Ed.  I read these first two verses last night and then again this morning and was encouraged.  The Lord visited Ezekiel when he was among the captives. Separated from his homeland  and isolated.  This is when he had this glorious vision...this is when the heavens were opened and he saw visions of God.  This is when the hand of God was upon Him and He received the word of the Lord. Take heart during your times of loneliness and despair...of separation and uncertainty. Psalm 34:18 says the LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. Seek Him diligently...look up during your times of trial.  Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.

I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant And their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them--Psalm 34:4-7
