ABANDONED BY GOD?
Where is the certificate of your mother's divorce, whom I have put away? Or which of My creditors is it to whom I have sold you? For your iniquities you have sold yourselves, and for your transgressions your mother has been put away. Why, when I came, was there no man? Why, when I called, was there none to answer? Is My hand shortened at all that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Indeed with My rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness;--Isaiah 50:1-2
To My Sweet Daughters:
Wait a minute, says God. I have not abandoned you nor have I put you away. You have sold yourselves. I have not deprived you of anything but your sin. So often we accuse God of not being there for us or abandoning us. We wallow in self pity, and point the finger at everyone else except us. Truly, we have no one to blame but ourselves for our own miseries. God calls on us to leave our sin and prevent our own ruin. He calls to us, but we do not answer. He desires fellowship with us, wants to deliver us and show us pathways of joy....but we ignore Him. Why? Do we think that He is unable or unwilling to save us??? No, beloved...God is willing...He has not abandoned you nor has He cast you off. He died for you when you were His enemy. He does not forget His people. His desire is that all be saved and come to eternal life in Him. It is you who have abandoned your God and His ways. It is you who have loved your sin more than you have loved your God. Answer Him when He calls. In Him and in Him alone is fullness of joy. Return.
"Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, And all the remnant of the house of Israel, Who have been upheld by Me from birth, Who have been carried from the womb: Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.--Isaiah 46:3-4
'I will go before you And make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the LORD, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel.--Isaiah 45:2-3
For you shall not go out with haste, Nor go by flight; For the LORD will go before you, And the God of Israel will be your rear guard.--Isaiah 52:12
But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; --Isaiah 43:1-3
