Scriptures on the Bond of Perfection

But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.--Colossians 3:14
Paraphrased:

But above (over...on top of)

all these things (tender mercies, kindness, meekness, long-suffering, forbearance and forgiveness)

put on (arm yourself, be clothed in)

love (affection, good will, benevolence, brotherly love) which is the

bond (adhesive - or of the ligaments by which the members of the human body are united together)

of perfection. (wanting nothing...brought to its end...complete)

by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love,--2 Corinthians 6:6

Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.--Romans 13:8-10
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.--Galatians 6:2

who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.--1 Peter 2:24
