"I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who willfn believe in Me through their word;—John 17:20
I have never gotten past the awe and wonder that I felt as a new believer when I first read these words. I wasn’t sure I was reading it correctly so I reread it a few times. My heart still bursts with joy each time I read it again. I was thought of....I was considered...I was prayed for in the upper room after the last supper was finished. Jesus’ intercessory work for me started thousands of years before I was born.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!—Psalm 139:17
Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.—Romans 8:34
Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.—Hebrews 7:25
Now to Him who is able to establish and strengthen you [in the faith] according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery [of the plan of salvation] which has been kept secret for long ages past, but now has been disclosed and through the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all the nations, according to the commandment of the eternal God, leading them to obedience to the faith, to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forevermore! Amen.—Romans 16:25-27 AMPLIFIED.
