Trusting in God Now and Forever....

Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.
But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you."
Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."
Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day."—John 11:21-24

I soooo get Martha here!  She believed God for the future...she knew Jesus could raise Lazarus at the last day, (John :25-29) but had difficulty believing that she could trust Him to do the same in the present.  I am the same way....I believe that God will raise the dead who believed on the last day...I believe that those of us who are alive and remain will not face death but be caught up with Him in the rapture.  But I very often get anxious because I fail to believe that God can do the same in the present.  I love how Jesus answers her.

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26 ESV)

Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.  His power does not change.  If we can trust Him for the future stuff, we can trust Him for the here and now.  He is the Great I AM!  The Becoming One...He becomes for us whatever our need might be.  My belief is not  an abstract concept. It is a personal trust in Him alone who can bring life to the dead.  Praying this one gets engraved on my heart.
