The Steps of a Good Man...

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.—Ps 37:23

I love knowing that my every step has been ordered by my God, AND that He DELIGHTS in my way!  As a parent and a grandparent I KNOW what it is like to delight in a little one!  What interests them, interests me...even if it is Thomas the tank engine or Blues Clues.  As they grow and their interests change mine change right with them.  Even if they turn aside from me and go in the wrong direction, my heart prays for them and desires their best. What concerns them, always concerns me.  If this is true about me, a fallen human being, how much more intense must God’s delight be for us His children?

O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
3 You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.
5 You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.—Ps 139
