1 And Hannah prayed and said:
"My heart rejoices in the LORD;
My horn is exalted in the LORD.
I smile at my enemies,
Because I rejoice in Your salvation.
2 "No one is holy like the LORD,
For there is none besides You,
Nor is there any rock like our God.
3 "Talk no more so very proudly;
Let no arrogance come from your mouth,
For the LORD is the God of knowledge;
And by Him actions are weighed.—1 Samuel 2:1-3
Thank you Father, for Hannah this morning. Thank you for her heart that desired Your will above her own. Thank you for her reminder that You are God and You are hold all things in Your hand. Thank you that You are our unchanging, all knowing, holy and perfect God. Thank you Father that YOU ARE in sovereign control and not just in the big things but in the teeny tiny little things as well. Thank you for Hannah’s example of trusting you despite her circumstances. Thank you especially for her desire to trust Your judgment of the sin and pride she encounters in both herself and in others. You are the Supreme judge...You administer perfect justice. Thank you that by strength no man will prevail. Our sufficiency is of You! Thank you that in the midst of turmoil and upheaval we can remember You rule in the kingdom of men. Knowing this helps me put both world and personal events in perspective. Everything both corporately and personally is ultimately for our good and Your glory.
Oh, send out Your light and Your truth!
Let them lead me;
Let them bring me to Your holy hill
And to Your tabernacle.
4 Then I will go to the altar of God,
To God my exceeding joy;
And on the harp I will praise You,
O God, my God.
5 Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.—Ps 43:3-5
