O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.
4 For Your mercy is great above the heavens,
And Your truth reaches to the clouds.
5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
And Your glory above all the earth;
6 That Your beloved may be delivered,
Save with Your right hand, and hear me.
12 Give us help from trouble,
For the help of man is useless.
13 Through God we will do valiantly,
For it is He who shall tread down our enemies.—Ps 108:1; 4-6; 12-13
Oh, Father! What a wonderful blessing it would be to have a steadfast heart that sings and gives praise to You throughout the trials of this life. Thank you, Father, that Your mercy IS great and Your truth REACHES to the clouds. Be exalted, O God above the heavens and Your glory above all the earth.
David prays here not only for rescue but for VICTORY. Give us help from trouble, O God, for the help of man is useless, but through You, we will do valiantly! Thank you, Father, that You word tells me that I AM more than a conqueror through Your Son who loves me! Nothing can separate me from Your love which is in Christ Jesus, my Lord.
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?—1 John 5:4-5
So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.—1 Corinthians 15:54-58
Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, as so many,fn peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.—2 Corinthians 2:14-17
