He Always Lives to Make Intercession for Us...

But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. 25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.Hebrews  7:24-25

Jesus’ heart toward us is right there in verse 25.

What does He LIVE for...

What did He die for...

What does He desire in the deepest part of His soul..

The answer:  to save us so that through Him we can draw near to God.  Verse 25 says that He LIVES to make intercession for us. Beloved, that is the heart of Jesus toward you and toward me.  Take that precious truth deep into Your soul.  Meditate on it. This morning, this woman (me) who, by God’s grace, has been forgiven much, has Jesus the Son of God interceding for her.  She has Jesus dwelling in her heart working in her and daily transforming her into His image.  She has Jesus praying for...He is her Advocate before the Father!  His desire is to be one with her as He is one with the Father.

"I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.—John 17:20-23

May our prayer today and every day echo our Jesus’.  That through us the light of the glory of God would shine in our hearts so that the world would believe that Jesus, is the Son of God and have life in His name.

For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus' sake. 6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.2 Corinthians 4:5-6

Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died-more than that, who was raised-who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. (Romans 8:34, ESV)
