Our God is UNFATHOMABLY Good…

 I will praise the LORD with my whole heart,

In the assembly of the upright and in the congregation.

2 The works of the LORD are great,

Studied by all who have pleasure in them.—Psalm 111:1-2

Psalm 111 is an acrostic psalm that gives us reasons to praise our God. Every line begins with a consecutive letter of the Hebrew alphabet to help aid the reader (Hebrew reader that is) in memorization. This morning my heart focused on the first two verses.

Today by His Spirit, I will praise my God!  All that is within me will praise Him whose name is great and whose works are wonderful.  I will study to see His lovingkindness before my eyes.

Beloved, our God is UNFATHOMABLY good.   All that we see, hear, smell, touch, and taste comes from His good hand. His steadfast love toward us truly never ceases.  His beauty and wisdom surround us and His Spirit lives in us and is with us.  His works are honorable and glorious and His ways past finding out.

Oh, Father!  You are so faithful!  Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things!  I need Your pure word to enlighten my eyes and remove the sin that obscures my vision and renders me unable to see Your lovingkindness before my eyes. I want to focus on those things that are true, right, pure, noble and good.  Guide the eyes of my soul today,  Father, and make Your way straight before my face.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

Be acceptable in Your sight,

O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.—Psalm 19:14

The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me. A prayer to the God of my life.—Psalm 42:8

1 I will praise You with my whole heart;

Before the gods I will sing praises to You.

2 I will worship toward Your holy temple,

And praise Your name

For Your lovingkindness and Your truth;

For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.

3 In the day when I cried out, You answered me,

And made me bold with strength in my soul.

4 All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O LORD,

When they hear the words of Your mouth.

5 Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the LORD,

For great is the glory of the LORD.

6 Though the LORD is on high,

Yet He regards the lowly;

But the proud He knows from afar.

7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me;

You will stretch out Your hand

Against the wrath of my enemies,

And Your right hand will save me.

8 The LORD will perfect that which concerns me;

Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever;

Do not forsake the works of Your hands.—Psalm 138
