Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion,
and to you shall vows be performed.
2 O you who hear prayer,
to you shall all flesh come.
3 When iniquities prevail against me,
you atone for our transgressions.
4 Blessed is the one you choose and bring near,
to dwell in your courts!
We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house,
the holiness of your temple!—Psalm 65
28 Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the LORD,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.—Isaiah 40:28-31
Have mercy on me Lord for I am weak. Today life feels like it is going a mile every minute and I can’t keep up. My nerves are frayed and my heart overwhelmed. I am so tired, Father! Undertake for me! Thank you for Your precious, life-giving word which today (as it does every day) helped me gain perspective and right my thinking.
Praise is due to You, my God, who hears my prayer, forgives my sins and gives me eternal life through Jesus, Your Son. Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts!
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.—Ephesians 1:3-6
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.
6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca,
They make it a spring;
The rain also covers it with pools.
7 They go from strength to strength;
Each one appears before God in Zion.—Psalm 84:5-7
Father, in my pride I feel like I should be able to do it all. By this time in my walk with You, I think I should have it wired. Oh, when will I learn to depend on Your grace to get me thru? “I” will never have it wired. Thank you for my failures because in them I see my need. In them, I see my insufficiency as well as my ugly pride. I don’t have to do this life alone. I don’t want to go it alone. I must decrease. You must increase. Your grace is sufficient. Your strength is made perfect in weakness.
9 And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Be glorified in my life, Father! Fill me with Your Spirit. Guide me in Your wisdom. I am accepted in the Beloved. I stand continually in Your unmerited, unearned favor. You are on my side. You are for me! You go with me and are in me! I can trust in Your goodness and mercy which follow me and Your steadfast love toward me which endures forever. I will cast all my care upon You because You care for me. You are the Bread of Life. Whoever comes to You shall not hunger, and whoever believes in You shall never thirst. I will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house and the holiness of Your temple.
4 One thing I have desired of the LORD,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD,
And to inquire in His temple.
5 For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.
6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice!
Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When You said, "Seek My face,"
My heart said to You, "Your face, LORD, I will seek."
9 Do not hide Your face from me;
Do not turn Your servant away in anger;
You have been my help;
Do not leave me nor forsake me,
O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me,
Then the LORD will take care of me.
11 Teach me Your way, O LORD,
And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.
12 Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries;
For false witnesses have risen against me,
And such as breathe out violence.
13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the LORD
In the land of the living.
14 Wait on the LORD;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the LORD!—Psalm 27:4-14
