Men Always Ought to Pray and Not Lose Heart…

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,—Luke 18:1

Bam! Thank you, Jesus!  Yes and Amen!  Men ALWAYS ought to pray and not lose heart.  Beloved…our God is for us. He is on our side. He wants us to pray!  He doesn’t want us to lose heart. The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Our God gives grace and glory. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.  He is our refuge and our strength…our very present help in time of trouble.

To the Lord, then, will I cry!  He will hear me. I will pour out my complaint before Him.  I will declare to Him my troubles. I will strengthen myself in my God.

The Bible is replete with exhortations to pray. Ephesians 6 tells us to pray with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. 1 Chronicles 16 reminds us to seek the Lord and His strength…to seek His face evermore. Philippians 4 command us to be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving to let our requests be made known to God. 1 Thessalonians 5 orders us to pray without ceasing and continue earnestly in prayer.

Beloved…CLEARLY, God wants us to pray. As a children of God, we are to depend on God’s grace to see us through this earthly realm.  The power of divine grace made us His children and it is the power of divine grace that will see us through this life. God desires us to live our lives here in communion with His Spirit.

Today then…moment by moment…let us continue steadfastly in prayer. Let us obey our God and pray for our own good and His glory. Let us go boldly to His throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in our time of need.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock,” Jesus says. “If any man hear My voice and open the door, I will come in to him and sup with him and he with Me.”

Praying today that I open that door to His help, His power, His Presence and His company.  The Lord fights for us. Both the battle and the victory belong to Him.  Call unto Him who will show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.
