John 12...

Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.—John 12:3

In Scripture, we can invariably find Mary of Bethany, Lazarus’ sister at the feet of Jesus.  In Luke 10 we find her at His feet for instruction...choosing as Jesus said the better part...the part that would not be taken from her. In John 11 we find her at His feet for comfort after Lazarus had fallen ill and died.  And finally, here in John 12, for service.

Lord...Fill my house with Your fragrance...the fragrance of surrender and dying to self. Help me to live as Mary, totally devoted to Her Jesus and very grateful....

Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.  To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things?2 Cor 2:14-16
