He answered and said, "Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see."—John 9:25
I love this man’s answer here to the religious authorities. It brought Psalm 131 to mind:
1 A Song of Ascents. Of David.
LORD, my heart is not haughty,
Nor my eyes lofty.
Neither do I concern myself with great matters,
Nor with things too profound for me.
2 Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul,
Like a weaned child with his mother;
Like a weaned child is my soul within me.
3 O Israel, hope in the LORD
From this time forth and forever.
This man may not have known why or how he was healed, but he did know that his life had been changed miraculously and he was not afraid to tell the truth. I had a similar experience when I came to Christ. I had no idea of the hows or the whys of my conversion, I just knew that something inside of me had dramatically changed and there was no going back. I could almost feel the synapses in my brain connecting...it was as if His wisdom was lighting up my thinking for the very first time. Beloved, we don’t need to know all the answers to share Christ with someone. We can, however, with or without words tell or show them how Jesus, God’s Son, has changed our life and trust Him to use that testimony to bring them to His throne.
3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake.
6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.—2 Corinthians 4:3-7
16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.—2 Corinthians 3:16-18
Beloved, hope in the Lord from this time forth and forever more!
